Subject-specific Programs

  • Fox School of Business—Earn college credits as a high school junior or senior through the B4USoar program, a unique college readiness and mentoring program for Philadelphia public and charter school students. This tuition-free program will allow you to take courses after school in a variety of subject areas in business and beyond. Open to students in grades 11 or 12.
  • College of Education and Human Development—Earn college credits through exploratory coursework in the field of education, or start your career as an educator through Temple Education Scholars, a yearlong dual enrollment program for high school seniors in the School District of Philadelphia. If you live in Philadelphia and will be a first-generation college student, you can also get ready for college as early as ninth grade through the Upward Bound program.
  • College of Engineering—Explore the possibilities in bio, civil, environmental, electrical, and mechanical engineering through hands-on projects and workshops. Programs include Women's Engineering Explorations (WE2) and the Robotics Summer Program. Open to students entering grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 (varies by program). Note that the Robotics Summer Program will be postponed to summer 2022 due to COVID-19.
  • Lewis Katz School of Medicine—In the Mini Med School program, students who are traditionally underrepresented in medicine will attend mock medical school classes, urban bioethics classes and receive CPR training, career and academic advising and professional development, in addition to having access to a culturally relevant social environment with similarly motivated peers.   • Music Preparatory Division of Boyer College of Music and Dance—Develop your skills as a singer, songwriter, composer, or musician through a wide variety of summer programs. Programs include the Songwriting Intensive, the Music Theory Intensive, and more. Program eligibility depends on age and musical experience (varies by program). Music Prep also offers individual music lessons for students of all ages and abilities in multiple instruments.
  • College of Science and Technology—Investigate, discover and experiment with summer programs for high school students in biology, chemistry, forensics and more. Programs include the STEM-UP Leadership Experience, the Teen Research Initiative Program (TRIP) and more. Open to students entering grades 8-12 (varies by program).
  • School of Theater, Film and Media Arts—Learn how to tell stories through film from developing the initial story through the final edit. Programs include the Reel Girls: High School Film Workshop and the Summer Digital Filmmaking Intensive. Open to students entering grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 (varies by program).

  • SAT and ACT Test Prep - Takes place live online. Contact ncce@temple.edu for more information on upcoming sessions.
  • Temple University Summer Education Camps – Explore a variety of summer camps and youth programs for youth in 2nd to 12th grades. Includes a selection of online classes, as well as in-person programs, primarily at the Ambler campus. Contact ncce@temple.edu for more information. 
  • Temple Science and Math Scholars Program for High School Students - Takes place at our Ambler, PA campus. Earn 12 college credits in math and science and earn a Certificate in Specialized Studies in Math and Science upon completion of the program. Open to students in grades 11 and 12.   • Temple University Harrisburg OWLS in Government - Interested in learning about politics and government? Join Temple University Harrisburg OWLS in Government Virtual Summer Camp. During our two-week camp, youth will explore and learn details about how state and local government functions. Students will also participate in mock debates and meet local and state representatives. Open to students entering grades 9 through 12.

Other pre-college programs

  • Cecil B. Moore Scholars Program—The Cecil B. Moore Scholars Program offers students from North Philadelphia coordinated pre-college preparation, admits students in cohorts for focused campus advising and mentoring, and awards scholarships that cover base tuition at Temple. The program is meant exclusively for students living in the eight North Philadelphia zip codes surrounding Temple who attend Philadelphia public (district or charter) high schools. Open to students in or entering grade 12.

  • Center for American Language and Culture—Study at Temple as an international student, and meet other high school students from around the world. Programs for high school students include EducationUSA Academy and TCALC Online. Open to students entering grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 (varies by program).
  • Center for Social Policy and Community Development—Prepare for life after high school, including college and your career, through programs like the Achieving Independence Center, College Bound Academy, WorkReady and Youth Employment Project. Program eligibility varies by age.
