Pre-College Workshops

Temple University’s Pre-College Workshops invite students entering grades 10, 11, or 12 to experience Temple University academics while exploring potential college majors through non-credit workshops. Students in Temple's Pre-College Workshops will

  • attend two non-credit workshops
  • choose one AM and one PM workshop from a variety of topics, or choose a full-day workshop on one topic
  • build their professional and college readiness skills
  • develop their interests in various academic fields
  • build their confidence and sense of independence
  • engage in interactive, project-based learning
  • make new friends and build community with other students from diverse backgrounds.

Temple Pre-College Workshops occur during 2 two-week sessions on Temple’s Main Campus in Philadelphia.

Pre-College Session Dates: 

  • June 22-July 2  (Commuters only)
  • July 6-July 17
  • July 20-31

Customize your Temple Pre-College Workshops to suit your interests

25+ workshop options. Topics include Engineering, Visual Arts, Psychology, Education and Human Development, Business, Humanities, Science & Technology, Pre-Law, Performing & Media Arts, Communications, Sports Management, Health & Medicine, College readiness, and more. Your first workshop will meet daily in the morning. Your second workshop will meet daily in the afternoon. Workshop choices vary depending on session dates.

Learn with other high school students on campus

Your program will be a mix of the workshops you select, designed to prepare you for college in an interactive classroom experience.   Your non-credit workshops are designed to introduce you to the key concepts of various academic fields, including work in small groups for project-based learning, and classroom presentations.

Enrollment Requirements and Deadlines
Temple Pre-College Workshops requires an application to be admitted. This program accepts students of all academic backgrounds and interests who express a desire to participate in the program and to learn. Click "Apply Now" to get started with your free application.  When selecting classes on the application form, be sure to select the name of your Intensive for the AM and PM slot.  You do not need to enter a second choice
 
Application Deadline
Enrollment opens December 1, 2025. Applications will be accepted through May 1, 2026 with priority given to those who apply prior to March 1.
 
Notification of Acceptance
Students will be notified of an admissions decision two weeks after the deadline. You will receive an email from precollege@temple.edu advising you of the admissions decision and what to do next. 
 
Enrolling in the Program
After receiving your acceptance, enroll in the program by paying your 10% deposit. It is recommended to pay your deposit within two -weeks of acceptance, as classes are filled in order of deposit.
Due dates and payment plans

Deposits are due April 1

Your balance is due June 1, 2026

You may pay the remainder in installments, as long as you have paid in full by June 1, 2026.
