If you have been accepted to a Pre-College program this summer, please follow the steps below to ensure you are ready to begin and that you have the information you need. All next steps are due by May 15, 2024.
Respond to your offer of admission via email. In your email, you must let us know whether you will or will not attend the program. Your email should have your parent or guardian copied so they are aware of your decision.
All students must make a 10% deposit by April 15 and pay their remaining balance in full by May 15. You can make payments online via credit card by logging into the account you used to apply for your program and clicking “My Invoices.”
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We also accept checks made payable to Temple University and mailed to the Pre-College address below. We are unable to accept cash. You can pay in as many installments in whatever amounts work for you and your family, as long as you meet the payment deadline.
emple’s Office of Education Abroad and Overseas Campuses requires that all students complete onboarding paperwork through their office prior to travel. Since you are a minor, your parent or legal guardian will need to complete this paperwork on your behalf, but it is important that you also review it with them. There are four forms to complete:
To complete the forms, login to the Education Abroad portal for our trip. When parents first access the program registration page, they will be prompted to create a User Login. Thereafter, they will need to log-in as a Visiting Applicant. Once they registration is initiated, they should default to their student’s application each time. Questions about this system can be directed to ghss@temple.edu.
You should review the health and safety training videos with your parents or guardians prior to departure. Those videos can be accessed here.
You should also download the Healix Travel Oracle app from Healix International, which is our travel assistance provider. Please check your email for Temple's policy number and how to download this app. The app is available on Apple iOS or Android.
More information on Temple's policy with Healix, what it does and does not cover, and how to download and use the app is available on these slides.
Further details about this app and Temple's travel assistance policies are available here. There are three items on this page. You do NOT need to register your travel with Healix International, as this trip is already registered. However, you should review the "pre-trip guidance and advice" and "during your trip" sections of this page.
Flight information and how to purchase specific flights was emailed to all admitted students on May 2, 2024. It is very important that you follow the instructions in that email to purchase the correct flights. You are required to travel with the group and are NOT permitted to select different flights and travel alone or with a parent to meet the group in Rome.
Because this is an overseas trip, you will be required to have a valid passport to travel. Your passport must not be expiring in the next six months. If you do not have a passport, we recommend paying for expedited processing, as passports routinely take at least 8 weeks to obtain. Students who do not obtain a valid passport by the time of travel will not be permitted to travel and are not entitled to a refund. More information about applying for a passport can be found here.
When you make your deposit to a pre-college program, several important forms will be automatically added to your account for you to complete. To access these forms, login to the account you used to apply for your program and click “My Applications.”
All students must complete the following forms:
Please review the following policies with your family prior to their arrival on campus. While some components of the policies are Philadelphia-specific, the same general rules apply for overseas programs. These policies are also published in your onboarding forms under “My Applications” in your noncredit.temple.edu student account.
All students should come prepared with basic school supplies, like a notebook and something to write with. Other class-specific supplies will be provided in Rome.
As you prepare to travel, please review the packing list throughly. If you have questions about whether you should bring an item that is not on the packing list, please email precollege@temple.edu.
Signing up for a pre-departure student onboarding is STRONGLY encouraged. Both parents/guardians are welcome to join us. You'll meet the staff and have a chance to ask any questions you have before we travel!
The date(s) for onboarding session(s), and how to sign up, will be published here in April 2024. Additional questions can be emailed anytime to precollege@temple.edu.
This page will be regularly updated with additional steps to complete to be ready to travel. You'll be notified via email when the page is updated with new content, but please make sure to check regularly and email precollege@temple.edu with any questions.
