Acceptance to the Honors Program is highly selective and based on more than just grades and test scores. We perform a holistic review of students, which includes a review of students' GPA, transcripts, and extra-curricular activities. If standardized test scores are available, they will also be considered. However, they are not required or preferred for consideration.
Admission to the Honors Program will be automatically evaluated for each student when they apply to Temple University. For selected students, an acceptance letter will be sent from Honors in addition to the acceptance letter sent out by the university. For students that did not get admitted into the Honors before coming to Temple, there are opportunities to reapply to Honors for the following semester!
We do not have strict cut-off scores for admission. However, to give a general sense, our accepted Fall 2022 Honors first-year students had an average high-school GPA of 3.95 on a 4.0 scale, an average SAT of 1420/1600, and an average ACT of 32.
Honors does not review or award merit scholarships. Please visit the Temple University Undergraduate Admissions Page for more information regarding cost and aid.
