What's up! My name is Eugene Tham (he/him), and I am a Senior studying Criminal Justice and Cognitive Neuroscience, with a certificate in Criminal Law, on the Pre-Law track. I am originally from Teaneck, NJ, which is just about 10 minutes outside of NYC. I was born in the Bronx, NY, and moved to NJ when I was just about 2 years old. I have a lot of family in NYC and enjoy all the attractions that come with city life which is a huge reason why I ultimately chose Temple! Aside from being an Honors Ambassador, I have been inducted into the Criminal Justice Honor Society and the Sonkin-Weisman Scholars Program here at Temple. I also work as an Honors Student Worker, Leadership Coordinator, Legal Assistant, and serve as VP of the Accountability Initiative. This semester, I plan to serve as a research assistant in the LAURA Scholars program, and after a gap year, I plan to attend law school in a major US city! All in all, I know what it’s like to enter college feeling as though there is a huge weight on your shoulders due to the great expectations you have set for yourself. However, the Temple’s Honors community did a great job guiding me when it came to navigating the challenges of college life. Now, I want to do the same for incoming students! It is okay not to know all the answers and figure things out along the way because that truly is what college is all about! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need guidance or just someone to talk to!
