Hello! I’m Marco Given, a junior computer science major from North Plainfield, New Jersey. I’ve been a Honors Ambassador since my freshman year and am now the junior HATT coordinator, as well as a student worker at the Honors spaces and Honors Peer Mentor. Outside of Honors I serve on Temple University’s General Education Executive Committee as the Honors student representative and have been a member of the Temple Climbing Club for the past 3 years. Additionally, this summer I had the opportunity to begin working on campus with the VIDAR lab led by Dr. Richard Souvenir on a project for the CST Summer Undergraduate Research Experience, investigating color influence on human image-matching tasks. This research aids in the active research and development of the TraffickCam application and I was able to present ongoing findings at the Fall 2025 CST Research Symposium. Outside of all things Temple, I’m always reading something new, playing video games or hooked on a new project related to custom PC building, modding/hacking old retro handhelds, setting up a homelab, etc. I love to go bouldering, hiking, visit a new National Park on my list, or splurge on a new tattoo! I’ve loved my time at Temple, living in Philly, and the friends I’ve made here. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
