Hi everyone! I’m Mateo Perez Presmanes (he/him), and I am a junior Global Studies and Political Science double major with an LGBTQ+ studies Minor. I’m originally from the small but beautiful city of Santander in Spain. I speak six languages and hope to pursue a Master's degree in International Relations and work for the United Nations. My research interests focus on linguistic rights, religion, and LGBTQIA+ rights. Outside of class, you will find me working as a Language and Writing Tutor at the Student Success Center, working as an Ambassador to the College of Liberal Arts, reading (my favorite books are They Both Die at the End and A Tale for the Time Being), and listening to music (my favorite bands and singers include One Direction, Blur, Mylène Farmer, and Justin Bieber). I’m also a huge Eurovision fan and know (almost) everything about the contest. You can talk to me about starting a new life away from your family and friends and being an international and LGBTQIA+ student. I can’t wait to meet all of you!
