Hello! My name is Michelle Tanujaya, and I am a senior Biology major. I was born and raised in Philadelphia and am a first-generation, commuter student. I serve as the President of the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC) and the Social Media Chair for the DREAM Program. Additionally, I am part of the MARC program, a Peer Mentor for the Undergraduate Research Peer Mentoring Program, and a Smith Scholar. I have a passion for research and have been working in the same molecular biochemistry lab at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine since my freshman year. I plan to pursue a Ph.D. to become a research scientist, although I am still deciding on the specific field to focus on. Beyond academics, I am passionate about giving back to the Philadelphia community and actively volunteer with various organizations in the city. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, working out, attending concerts, and thrifting. Feel free to reach out to me about anything I’m involved in or just to chat! I’m excited to connect with you all!
