Hi everyone! My name is Nour Blankinship (he/him), and I am a Greco-Roman Classics major with minors in Italian and Geography & Urban Studies. I am from Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia. At Temple, I am mainly involved in the Muslim Students Association (where I serve as the muezzin (caller to prayer) on Fridays), the Temple Arab Society, and Eta Sigma Phi, an undergraduate national honor society devoted to promoting Classics, of which I am the vice president of the local Zeta Beta chapter. In my free time, I enjoy reading (especially fantasy like Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, and Wheel of Time), listening to music (I listen to almost anything, but some of my favorite artists include Black Sabbath, Bobby Caldwell, and Hans Zimmer), working out (be that biking, rowing, hiking, or lifting), traveling, and gaming. I love languages and study them both academically and for fun (I know Arabic, Italian, and Latin in addition to English, all of which I don’t know half as well as I should like). I am also writing a fantasy novel, a huge project spanning almost a decade now. I am a commuter and was undeclared my first semester, so if you have any questions about either of those things (or anything else) feel free to reach out! I’m excited to meet you!
