Hey! My name is Tyler Mergen and I am a senior Spanish major and Global Studies minor here at Temple. I participated in the Latin American Studies Semester in the spring of 2023 and traveled to Mérida, México with the program, and I also spent the spring of 2024 in Oviedo, Spain with the Temple in Spain semester program. Study abroad has been my favorite part of my college experience so far, and I love connecting students with opportunities to do so. I am also a Peer Instructor for Honors REACT, a member of the Singchronize a cappella group, and a Temple Smith Scholar. Outside of class I have participated in a two-year Foreign Service internship with the State Department, spending the summer of 2024 working in Washington, DC, and the summer of 2025 working overseas at the US Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuania. Aside from school, I have read every single Jodi Picoult novel, am always planning some sort of travel, and have played guitar for over ten years. Please ask me anything and everything about Temple, Honors, being first gen, and the best cafes to study at in the city. I look forward to connecting soon!
