Travel & Arrangements

Arrivals

Our program officially begins at 7 p.m. for dinner in the city. There is a preselected menu for this night, but rest assured all dietary restrictions have been taken into consideration. Both your meal and beverages will, of course, be covered by Temple.

Pre-arrivals

For those arriving early on Sunday, we will have a reception at the hotel before departing on a shuttle at 7 p.m. for our evening activities.

Transportation

We will be covering the cost of your lodging and travel to and from Philadelphia. We only ask that you cover your local travel expenses to and from wherever you arrive in Philadelphia (e.g., the airport, 30th Street Station, etc.). To make your way to the hotel or back home, here are some transportation options.

Amtrak 30th Street Station

2955 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19104

This is the main train station in Philadelphia. If you are coming into Philadelphia, you will arrive here. All regional rail lines can take you to the Amtrak 30th Street Station.

Philadelphia International Airport

8000 Essington Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19153

SEPTA Regional Rail Temple University Station & Cecil B. Moore Subway Station

This is Temple University’s SEPTA station that can take you to the airport. It is located at 927 W. Berks St. View a full list of schedule departure and arrival times. Tickets can be purchased from the teller at the station. Additionally, there is a SEPTA subway station at Cecil B. Moore Avenue and Broad Street (just above Temple’s Morgan Hall). You can take this subway to Amtrak 30th Street Station (switching lines at City Hall).

Lyft/Uber

Following the program, the best recommendation would be to depart from Morgan Hall located at 1601 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19122.

Accommodations

Temple will provide you with accommodations at a local hotel. Details will be available soon.

Temple University was founded in 1884 as a night school for working-class Philadelphians aspiring to the American dream. As Philadelphia’s only four-year public university, we are now one of the top 50 largest universities in America with campuses in Philadelphia, Rome and Tokyo. We offer more than 500 academic programs and we are among America’s largest educators in the combined fields of dentistry, law, medicine, pharmacy and podiatry. In the past few years, Temple students became Rhodes, Goldwater and Gilman scholars. Our bustling Main Campus is set against the backdrop of the Philadelphia skyline in America’s first World Heritage City. Green space, athletic facilities and eclectic architecture ranging from the historic Temple Performing Arts Center to an emerging state-of-the-art Charles Library form a vibrant residential setting. More than 300 student organizations, including Temple’s NCAA Division I athletic programs, thrive on campus.
