Hi! My name is Makeda Paderewski, and I’m from Jim Thorpe, PA. I am a rising senior, majoring in neuroscience with a minor in clinical psychology and a certificate in programming. I’m a first-generation college student, hoping to pursue a PhD in neuroscience. Outside of mentoring, I am involved in the Student Activists Against Sexual Assault (SAASA), Neuroscience National Honor Society – Nu Rho Psi, and Temple Honors Appalachia. I am doing research in two labs: in Dr. Picone’s lab, I analyze EEGs within the Neural Engineering Data Consortium (NEDC), and in Dr. Wimmer’s lab, I study addiction in rodent models. During breaks from school, I am a server and bartender in my hometown. For fun, I love going to the gym, listening to new music, playing alto saxophone, trying new recipes, and doing makeup. I am so excited to meet you all, so feel free to reach out!
