Fotima was born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and immigrated to the United States with her family in 2020, just before starting her freshman year at Temple University. She graduated with a B.A. in Advertising from Klein College of Media and Communication and a minor in Digital Marketing.
During her time at Temple, Fotima was a Social Media Intern at the Fellowships Advising Office and an Outreach and Communications Intern at the Law Library. To fulfill her childhood dreams, she pursued a career in the media and entertainment industry for a few years, working at QVC and Paramount (Nickelodeon). In her senior year, Fotima also served as an Ambassador for Warner Bros. Entertainment, representing Temple University among 15 colleges across the United States. She partnered with Temple’s student organizations, local businesses, influencers, and sororities to promote major movies such as Wonka, Aquaman 2, Dune: Part Two, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
After graduating from Temple University in May 2024, Fotima decided to pursue a career in education. She joined the Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development’s (PHENND) Next Steps AmeriCorps program as a Team Leader for Temple University. In this role, she coordinates a group of Temple undergraduate students and guides them through leadership, mentoring, and community service opportunities.
