What's up! My name is Eugene Tham (he/him) and I am a sophomore studying Criminal Justice and Cognitive Neuroscience, while on the Pre-Law track. I am originally from Teaneck, NJ, which is just about 10 mins outside of NYC. I was born in the Bronx, NY, and moved to NJ when I was just about 2 years old. I have a lot of family in NYC and enjoy all the attractions that come with city life which is a huge reason why I ultimately chose Temple! Last year, I was inducted into the Sonkin-Weisman Scholar Program here at Temple, while also starting my part-time job as an Honors Student Worker. I’ve recently started getting involved in the Black Pre-Law Association and PENSA Campus Ministry program which has really helped me find a place here at Temple. In High School, I was inducted into the National Society of High School Scholars and received a Certificate of Selection Award of Excellence from the Congress of Future Medical Leaders. Nevertheless, during my freshman year, I realized that Medical School just wasn’t my true calling. All in all, I know what it’s like to enter college feeling as though there is a huge weight on your shoulders due to the great expectation you have set for yourself. However, the Temple’s Honors community did a great job guiding me when it came to navigating the challenges of college life. Now, I want to do the same for incoming students! It is okay not to know all the answers and figure things out along the way because that truly is what college is all about! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need guidance or just someone to talk to!
