Hi everyone! My name is Gwen (she/her) and I am a senior Geography and Urban Studies major! I am also minoring in Community Development and pursuing a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Certificate.  I am from Haverford, PA, but I always like to throw in that I grew up in Philly, so being back here for college makes this city feel like my true home :) I knew I wanted an urban school when applying for college, and I originally attended DePaul University in Chicago but decided to transfer after one semester when I realized how strong my passion for Philadelphia is and how well-situated Temple was to support me.  Alongside being a HATT, I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in many wonderful experiences here at Temple, including being a 2021 Owl Team (Orientation) Leader, a Research Assistant researching climate resiliency in Philadelphia, and a Good Neighbor Initiative Presenter, where I helped to inform students on how to be respectful and conscious neighbors to our North Philadelphia community.  I also had the exciting experience of studying abroad at Temple Rome this past summer! Outside of Temple, I had a summer internship in the urban planning field at SEPTA, Philadelphia’s public transportation agency.  Currently, I am a student worker at the Temple Law Library, a job which I got through Honors alumni! My other hobbies include cartography, watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, hanging out with my friends, and finding the best breakfast sandwich around. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or just to chat!
