What did you enjoy most about living in the Honors LLC?

“The friends and community that was made in the 1300 3rd Floor Lounge. Some of the closest friendships that I made came from living in the 1300 LLC as well as being in close proximity to events that I see on the Honors Bulletin. Living on campus and having those events easily accessible helped me get involved more in the Honors Program.”

What are 3 pieces of advice that you would give to an Honors Student?

  • Don’t Compare Yourself to Others: Being an Honors Student is not a competition and that is something I see others go through when coming from High School and something that I went through. Everyone is on their own path, what is good for someone else is not always what is good for you.

  • Use the Honors Resources: Read the Honors Bulletin, there are so many resources for Honors students outside of Priority Registration and the classes offered. Honors is more than classes and studying, there are so many ways to get involved in different Honors Programs or even just coming to events and being a part of the Honors community.

  • Reach Out for Support: Everyone is willing to provide support for one another. I constantly see that everyone wants to be a leader/mentor, but even leaders and mentors need support. The Honors community encourages us to support one another, there is almost like a built-in support system within Honors.
