Hey everyone! My name is Lolade Kola-Adewuyi (Lu-la-day). I am a senior majoring in Advertising with dual concentrations in Art Direction and Copywriting. Alongside my major, I have received a certification in American Sign Language (ASL). Beyond my academics, I am involved in various campus activities. I am active within in the honors program with Temple Honors Forum and Temple Honors Appalachia (THA), where I have created irreplaceable memories and plan to participate again (for the last time:( ) this year. On campus, I hold several leadership and creative roles: I serve as the Main Campus Program Board Graphic Designer, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Officer for Temple Ad Club, Advertising Manager for The Temple News and oversee social media content as the Social Media Coordinator for Talking Hands (ASL) Club. Additionally, I provide tutoring and conversation practice for students learning ASL and English at the Student Success Center. Aside from my campus involvements, I love writing creatively and exploring unconventional art forms like makeup, fashion, music, and photography. Some of my favorite artists are Victoria Monet, Frank Ocean, SZA, WILLOW, Cleo Sol, Rico Nasty, Asake, and The Weeknd. This summer I will spend my time studying abroad in Rome and then after hanging out with my friends and family in my hometown Pg County, Maryland. Although I am taking in every second of summer, I am excited to meet and get to know all of you this year. I’ll leave you with what I wish I could tell my freshman self; new beginnings are often disguised as painful endings; embrace the discomfort, take risks, and trust the process. If you ever need any help or simply want to connect, please feel free to reach out!
