What have you enjoyed about being an Honors RA?

“Being an Honors RA provides a feeling of familiarity and comfort. I am currently the Honors RA on the same floor that I was on when I lived in the LLC as a First Year Student. I enjoy living around other Honors Students and being able to answer their questions and be a layer of support as the First Year Honors Students find their footing both in the Honors Program and at Temple!”

What are 3 pieces of advice that you would give to an Honors Student?

  • Honors is about Collaboration over Competition: The Honors Program is not designed to make your academic career harder, so don’t think that being an Honors Student will make for an overwhelming experience.

  • Don’t Try Everything at Once: You may want to jump in and start looking for all of the clubs, internships, jobs, and more once you step foot on campus. Take a breath and find your footing first. Be intentional with what you want to do because if you jump in and start doing it all, you will burn yourself out.

  • Reach Out for Support and Friends: The Honors Program has a strong foundation with many folks ready to support you at every step of your journey. There are so many connections to also be made and you are almost guaranteed to find your friends in Honors.
