Hi everyone! My name is Sophia (she/her) and I’m a third year student majoring in Sociology and Global Economics with a minor in Spanish. I’m from the suburbs of Chicago which made me interested in attending an urban school. What drew me in most was the vibrant campus atmosphere and its diverse community. Temple Honors offered a close-knit community within Temple because of the small size of honors within the university. Philadelphia has become a new home for me and provides a million and one places to discover and enjoy. I am a big foodie so if you like eating out feel free to ask for recommendations! Temple has offered me many opportunities for work such as being an undergraduate researcher for a joint sociological study of Climate Change through Temple University and Rice University. Aside from this, I have tutored student athletes and worked with a nonprofit in Chicago as a Training Intern. Last semester I studied abroad through Temple’s Spain program so if you are interested in this I’d love to talk more about it! Feel free to email me about anything from questions about Temple Study abroad to questions about Sociology, Global Studies, and Spanish to food recommendations in the city!
